Jamie Purdon has done it all in the world of print and broadcast journalism. His career of more than 25 years took him from being a daily news reporter to being in charge of the largest and most influential broadcast news organization in Canada. As the Director of Newsgathering for CBC News, Jamie was responsible for the daily editorial agenda for both CBC Television and Radio. In between, he gathered extensive experience as a television producer and journalistic leader working in Canada and internationally. He is a multi-award winning television producer, and has created and led many of the outstanding programs in Canadian radio including CBC\'s As it Happens, and The Current. He also directed CBC\'s federal and provincial election coverage. Currently, Jamie is also involved in project that applies the latest thinking in neuroscience and cognitive development to work on leadership skills with at risk youth in Canada. Jamie has degrees from York University, Ryerson University, and the University of Windsor. He is also a graduate of the Kennedy school of Government at Harvard, where he received a Masters in Public Administration.
